Well-being Ambassadors

We have a team of Wellbeing Ambassadors from Years 10, 11 and Sixth Form at North Bromsgrove High School. Students can apply to join the Wellbeing Ambassador team, where they act as role models for the whole North Bromsgrove community.

The Wellbeing Ambassadors promote positive mental health and wellbeing for all students, offering peer-to-peer support to ensure that everyone feels heard, cared for, and valued. The team meet regularly to share ideas and develop initiatives that support student wellbeing, including buddy systems, drop-in sessions, displays, and campaign materials, as well as helping to organise key events such as Mental Health Awareness Week.

They also play an important role in raising awareness across the school, helping to reduce stigma around mental health and encouraging students to speak openly about how they are feeling. By being visible, approachable, and supportive around school, they help create a safe and inclusive environment where students feel confident seeking help when they need it.

Their work extends beyond the school gates into the local community. Recently, the Wellbeing Ambassadors hand delivered 107 birthday cards made by students at North to local care home resident Irene for her 107th birthday, and raised £150 for the children’s mental health charity Place2Be through Valentine-themed activities and a bake sale. These experiences help students develop empathy, leadership, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

We also actively support World Mental Health Day each October and Mental Health Awareness Week each May through tutor time activities, assemblies, and wider community events. Across the year, the Wellbeing Ambassadors continue to lead campaigns, support whole-school initiatives, and contribute ideas that shape the school’s wellbeing strategy.

Overall, the programme not only supports the mental health and wellbeing of students across the school, but also provides valuable leadership opportunities for the ambassadors themselves, helping them to develop confidence, communication skills, and a lasting commitment to supporting others.

Students wishing to apply for the role of Wellbeing Ambassador should do so through via our Student Leadership page on the website.
