Personal Development enables students to develop their Cultural Capital by having opportunities to try new activities, develop new or existing talents, skills and interests and to develop their confidence and character by taking on leadership opportunities. Contributing within group settings enables students to work as part of a team and build a sense of community

The activities they can experience will contribute to our curriculum aims to “give all learners the knowledge and cultural capital they need to be confident citizens and succeed in life.” Students secure “detailed knowledge and skills for future learning and employment.”  We strive to instil a strong aspiration for the future.

We celebrate all students' individual talents and we pride ourselves on showing positive regard for ourselves and others. We celebrate our inclusive and diverse North family and aim to create a culture built on safety, trust and respect. In a rapidly changing world. Our staff are committed to nurturing students who show adaptability and resilience, alongside demonstrating respect, kindness and tolerance of people from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds.

The curriculum enables students to develop their character through the CARE (PHSE) lessons which allows their resilience, confidence and independence to thrive; it also helps them to know how to keep physically and mentally healthy. We want every student to endeavour to reach their personal goals.

We aim for all students to leave school as independent and confident young adults, ready to make a highly positive contribution to their community and wider society.
