Performing Arts

Performing Arts

At North Bromsgrove High School, Performing Arts plays a vital role in developing confident, creative and resilient young people. Through Drama, Dance and Music, students are encouraged to express themselves, collaborate with others and develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Our Performing Arts curriculum provides students with the opportunity to explore their creativity, build self-confidence and develop essential communication skills. Whether performing on stage, composing music, working behind the scenesor participating in enrichment activities, students are supported to achieve their full potential in an inclusive and inspiring environment.

Learning Through Performance

Drama

Drama lessons encourage students to explore a wide range of theatrical styles, techniques and genres. Students develop performance, devising and evaluation skills while exploring themes that help them understand the world around them. Lessons promote creativity, teamwork, empathy and confidence.

Dance enables students to develop creativity, confidence and performance skills through practical and engaging experiences. Students explore a variety of dance styles and techniques, using movement to communicate ideas and stories. Through performance and choreography, they develop teamwork, self-discipline, resilience and artistic expression whilst building confidence and physical wellbeing.

Music

Music provides students with opportunities to perform, compose and listen critically. Students develop their musical understanding through practical activities, composition projects and performances. Lessons encourage creativity whilst building technical skills and musical knowledge.
