Pastoral Care
At North Bromsgrove High School, we are proud of the positive and supportive relationships between staff and students. We recognise that each student is unique, with different strengths, needs, and ways of responding to challenges. Our dedicated Pastoral Team—including form tutors, Progress Leaders, and the Student Support Team—works closely with students to support their academic, social, and emotional development.
Form tutors closely monitor students’ progress, providing guidance and encouragement to help them make the most of their education. Additional support is available through the school nurse, trained counsellors, and mentors, ensuring that students can access help for both physical and mental wellbeing whenever needed.
Pastoral care at North Bromsgrove underpins all learning. We believe that supporting students’ wellbeing is essential for personal growth, character development, and building life skills. Our whole-school approach fosters resilience, respect, fairness, and tolerance, while ensuring equal opportunities for all. We actively work to remove barriers to learning, including discrimination and inequality, creating an environment where every student can succeed.
We also value strong partnerships with families. Open communication between home and school is encouraged, helping to resolve challenges quickly and support students effectively. Parents and carers are kept informed of progress through regular reviews, consultation evenings, and other school events—please see our calendar for details.
