Year 11 Prom is a huge success!

Year 11 Prom is a huge success!

We were determined to enable Year 11 to have their prom, even if it meant it was in the last couple of days of term and on the very next night to Year 13 - meaning we had two late nights in a row! It was however, absolutely worth the time and effort from staff to allow our students this opportunity to celebrate their hard work, resilience, and success as a year group. As Mr Gibson said to them all, they have set a high benchmark for future cohorts through their hard work and willingness to give to our school community and create the culture of our North family.

With the hall decked out in a James Bond theme, a caricature artist in residence, the gorgeous beef patty burgers and ice-crema van arriving - there was barely time for the disco!

It was an absolute privilege to see our parents' smiles and hugs for their children as they walked the red carpet to cheers and applause from the staff who welcomed them back to school. It may not have been the venue we initially envisaged for prom but as it turned out, having all the outdoor space on a hot evening as well as the familiarity of so many staff, there was no doubt how much our students appreciated it.

Our thanks go to Miss Precott and Miss Pearce for all their hard work and especially to the year 11 students Beth and Lucy who made and decorated our Bond themed cakes; also, to the many staff who came to show their appreciation for the year group.

Best of luck to Year 11 as a whole and we look forward to seeing over 100 of you next year in our sixth form. If you move onto college - do come back and say hello as you are always welcome, and we would love to know how you get on with following your dreams!
