Intrepid DofE students

Following time training and practising, our year 10 and 11 students were ready to tackle the Malverns and reach that 425m peak!

Over two weekends, year 10, then year 11 students took part in their qualifying expeditions for the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The teams planned and organised the expedition; all team members will then have to describe the role they have played in planning which allows students to build their confidence and allows new friendships to be formed.

The two days expedition must have at least six hours of planned activity every day (a little longer for our teams that explored a slightly ‘alternative’ route back!) and achieving a distance of between 24 - 32km/ 15 - 20 miles.

We are very proud of their determination to succeed and cook their food outdoors in weather that ranged from bright sunshine to pouring rain!

Participants of Silver DofE in our 6th form and year 11 students who wish to sign up for Silver will be contacted in the new year.
