Celebrating our North Alumni

Georgia left NBHS Sixth Form in 2014 and in 2017 graduated from the University of Lincoln with a First Class BA Hons in Media Production; she was also awarded the graduate award for Best Photography Student.

After graduation, she took a year out and returned to Lincoln to do a masters degree in Fine Art. The skills she developed through her undergraduate degree are ones she uses on a daily basis.

Her degree show unfortunately cannot go ahead in September as planned; instead she is creating a book as exhibition experience, which gives the opportunity to distribute the degree show work across the country. We will have a copy in the school library when it is released in September.

Along with her masters degree, she was the 2019 Production Assistant for Frequency: International Festival of Digital Culture. Working within the industry, on such a large scale event, whilst studying was an intense experience, but a fantastic opportunity to work in the industry.

During her time at North, she was supported by Miss Flellos, Miss. Travers, Mr Horton, Ms Figg and Ms Tabassum in her love of poetry and English language.

‘It's wonderful to think I have gone from my little heartfelt poems scribbled away in the school library, to being paid to perform my work at some fantastic venues. I always loved to write, and am also fortunate enough to be the editor of the Environment section of a not for profit arts journal’.
