Bronze DofE Success

Bronze DofE Success

We had a total of 93 year 9 students participate in the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award first training session this weekend which was a huge success both in terms of numbers and attitude to learning.

The students learnt many skills including first aid, cooking, putting up tents and navigation on Saturday and then met at the Lickey Hills on Sunday to test their navigation skills, walking for a total of 6 hours. Not only did they demonstrate resilience and determination, they worked amazingly well as a team. It was also a good opportunity for our new Year 9 students to make friends and talk to new people across the year.

The students represented the school brilliantly with excellent behaviour and members of the public commented on how wonderful it was to see the students embarking on DofE once again.
